Hotel Elysee

You don’t always have to jump on a plane and fly across the ocean to feel like you’re in France. Imagine all you can drink wine every evening, delicious croissants for breakfast, and classic European decor right in the middle of Manhattan! Hotel Elysee has been welcoming guests since the early 20th century and it’s never lost its charm. This four-star hotel is part of the prestigious Library Hotel Collection and almost everything inside is original- including the French ambiance throughout the entire property. Also, it’s located just a few blocks away from Central Park so it’s an ideal location for anyone visiting the city that never sleeps or wanting to have a luxurious staycation!

I instantly felt welcomed from the moment I walked into the gorgeous lobby. After being checked in by the friendly staff, I was shown up to my enormous suite where a bottle of wine, some chocolates and complimentary bottles of water were waiting for me (how sweet was that?).

My spacious room had an open floor plan with an elegant lounge area, a king size bed, a fully stocked mini bar, an original fireplace (that doesn’t work but still gorgeous), a large desk, a wardrobe and two flatscreen TV’s! Even with all the furniture, I still had plenty of room to bust out a few dance moves if I wanted.

After getting settled in, I decided to head down to their wine and cheese reception on the second floor where they graciously offer guess complimentary goodies every night from 5-8 pm. This incredible ‘happy hour’ includes a variety of different cheeses, fresh fruit, olives, veggies with dip, cookies, various delicious wine and more! It’s the perfect pre-dinner celebration.

After exploring the city a bit more, it was time to jump into the cozy king size bed for a good nights sleep. I put on the complimentary plush robe and slippers while I settled into bed. The next morning, I found myself hungry for breakfast. Although they have a fantastic complimentary breakfast buffet, I opted out on having breakfast in bed (additional cost but totally worth it). This lovely spread included fresh brewed coffee, bagels, fresh fruit, croissants and more. Can a staycation get any better than this? It was the perfect way to fuel up for another adventurous day in NYC.

After spending the morning sleeping in and enjoying my breakfast in bed, it was time to say goodbye. I didn’t want to leave but I guess all good things must come to end.
